Can I register a Ltd company and not use it?
Absolutely! You can register a limited company and keep it dormant if you don’t plan to use it immediately. A dormant company has no accounting transactions during a financial year. It’s important to note that you’ll still need to file an annual confirmation statement and dormant company accounts with Companies House.

What company formation package do I need?

If you’re simply looking to register your company with Companies House quickly and don’t need additional extras, we’d recommend a basic package. But if you need additional services like PAYE registration, director service address or more, we’d recommend a more comprehensive package.

Can I set up a limited company on my own?
Definitely! You can set up a limited company on your own. To do this, you’ll need to be the company’s director and sole shareholder. You can register your company independently, but many people use a company formation package. Can I buy a basic package and upgrade later?
Once you have bought your formations package, we’ll process your company registration with Companies House, which you can only do once. However, all of the additional services in our more comprehensive packages are available as separate services to all businesses, so you can add them at any time.
Can a UK non-resident buy any package?
The process for registering a UK business as a non-resident is slightly different than if you’re a UK resident, but that doesn’t mean you can’t form a UK business. What information will I need to provide?
The information you’ll need to provide will depend on the type of business you are starting. But generally, you’ll need to supply the following information:

- Registered office address in the UK
- Director(s) details, including full name, date of birth, nationality, occupation, and residential address
- Shareholder(s) details, including name, address, and number of shares held
- Memorandum and Articles of Association
